# Writing Battles

> Your words are weapons. Fight monsters through solo, co-op, and endurance battles.

Writing Battles are how you fight monsters in 4thewords. Pick a monster, open a document, and write — your words deal damage, and the more you write, the harder you hit.

Three kinds of battles: **solo** (write enough words to defeat a monster before time runs out), **endurance** (defend against a monster's attacks and write until the timer expires), and **co-op** (team up with other Dust Warriors to defeat a shared monster).
